Park Hyung Sik Shares Feelings On Competing With Close Friend Seo Kang Joon In The Same Time Slot
Park Hyung Sik was asked about how he felt going face to face with his close friend Seo Kang Joon in the heated weekend drama battle thats about to ensue!
On February 21, the press conference for SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama Buried Hearts was held at the SBS Hall in Mok-dong, Seoul. Director Jin Chang Kyu and actors Park Hyung Sik, Heo Jun Ho, Lee Hae Young, and Hong Hwa Yeon attended the event.
Buried Hearts follows the revenge story of Seo Dong Joo (played by Park Hyung Sik), who hacks into a slush fund worth 2 trillion won and fights against the ultimate evil that tried to kill him. The drama is written by Lee Myung Hee of Money Flower and directed by Jin Chang Kyu of Military Prosecutor Doberman. Park Hyung Sik takes on the role of Seo Dong Joo, the ambitious head of external affairs at Daesan Group’s chairman’s office.
Ahead of the premiere, Park Hyung Sik spoke about reuniting with Seo Kang Joon, whom he last worked with 11 years ago in What Happens to My Family?. The two previously starred alongside Nam Ji Hyun, forming a youthful yet comedic love triangle.
Buried Hearts is set to premiere on February 21 at 10 PM, while Seo Kang Joon’s Undercover High School will air on the same day at 9:50 PM. With overlapping time slots, the two dramas are expected to face fierce competition.
Park Hyung Sik commented, “Even 11 years ago, we had a bickering relationship, and now we’re competing again. I’ve always been rooting for Kang Joon, and while I hope we both do well… I’d like our drama to do just a little better,” he joked.
He added, “Until now, I’ve played warm and kindhearted roles full of justice, but this time, I’ll be portraying a more ambitious and straightforward character with deeper desires,” hinting at his transformation in the drama.
Buried Hearts will premiere on February 21 at 10 PM on SBS.
