Park Min Young Reveals She Underwent Extreme Weight Control In Preparation For Her New Role
Actress Park Min Young revealed that she underwent extreme weight management for her new drama.
On the afternoon of the 23rd of February, at the production presentation for tvN’s new Monday–Tuesday drama “Siren’s Kiss,” which was held via TVING and Naver TV, Park Min Young shared, “While filming this project, I fasted while drinking 3 liters of water a day.”
She plays Han Seol Ah, the chief auctioneer at Royal Auction in the drama. “The character barely eats. She only drinks water and alcohol,” she explained. “I felt like I shouldn’t gain weigh. She is a character who feels lonely when alone and also suffers from panic disorder, so I became darker as well.”

In response, Park Min Young clarified directly through social media, saying, “I dieted in a healthy way. I’ve now returned to my usual self. I am healthy. Please don’t worry.”
Park Min Young debuted in 2006 through the sitcom Unstoppable High Kick and went on to solidify her status as a rom-com queen through dramas such as Sungkyunkwan Scandal, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Her Private Life.
Meanwhile, “Siren’s Kiss” is a drama that tells the story of a captivating insurance fraud suspect and the man who tracks her. Wi Ha Joon and Kim Jung Hyun also star alongside Park Min Young. The first episode will air on March 2.
