Park Shin Hye Shares Thoughts On Her Acting Career, Family And More

Park Shin Hye, the “trustworthy actress” set to return with tvN’s “Undercover Miss Hong,” appeared on “YouTube Haji Young” to welcome the New Year.

In the episode released recently, Park Shin Hye appeared as the first guest of the New Year and sat down with host Ha Ji Young. She spoke candidly about her acting career, life philosophy, and family, fully showcasing her charm.

Park Shin Hye drew attention by sharing her own method of mental management. “If I work hard but the results don’t meet my expectations, it does hurt inside, but I think to myself that I’ve already done everything I could,” she said. She added, “If you hold onto the pain, you’re the only one who ends up struggling, so it’s important to let go quickly.”

Looking back on her acting career, Park Shin Hye chose “The Heirs” as her life-defining work. She expressed gratitude for the lasting power of projects that are still vividly remembered, recalling how “The Heirs,” along with “Pinocchio” and “Doctors,” all received immense love while she wore school uniforms in those roles. She also opened up about her struggles at the time, reflecting on her growth as an actress. “In my twenties, I wasn’t good at taking jokes,” she said, explaining that during the filming of “The Heirs,” she reacted seriously when peers joked around, which led to comments like, “Why do you take jokes so seriously?”

She admitted that this personality trait also affected her acting. As she gained experience and emotional leeway, the way she accepted situations changed, and that shift naturally began to reflect in her performances. In particular, she said, “These days, comedy acting has become a bit easier for me,” raising anticipation for the richer, more flavorful performance she will show in “Undercover Miss Hong.”

In the latter part of the episode, warm family stories were shared. Park Shin Hye made viewers laugh with a realistic mother-daughter anecdote, asking, “Why do moms and daughters fight when they travel together?” Attention was also drawn to her mother’s prenatal dream. The dream involved a flood where water entered the house, and on a raised platform sat a ripe, beautiful persimmon. It was interpreted as a dream symbolizing a child who appears like a precious fruit, protected as a great blessing. Park Shin Hye responded, “I really feel that I’ve been protected a lot throughout my career,” expressing her gratitude.

Addressing her mother, Park Shin Hye said, “Me being healthy is probably the biggest happiness for my mom,. Let’s fight less in 2026.”
