50 Police Officers To Be On Standby As Kim Soo Hyun Attends 1st Scheduled Event Since Controversy In Taiwan
Actor Kim Soo Hyun to Attend Taiwan Fan Meeting Amidst Scandal, 50 Police Officers on Standby
Amidst his temporary hiatus due to a private life controversy, actor Kim Soo Hyun will be making his first public appearance at a fan meeting in Taiwan. Reports indicate that 50 police officers will be on standby in Kaohsiung due to the event.
According to Taiwan’s ET Today on the 21st (local time) of March, Kim Soo Hyun is set to participate in the “Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival” hosted by a convenience store chain on the 30th. The event will feature a fan meeting, with 50 police officers being deployed to maintain order and handle any illegal or disorderly behavior.
Kim Soo Hyun recently faced backlash over personal life allegations, leading to a temporary suspension of activities and the termination of multiple brand endorsement deals. With this situation unfolding, the Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival event is expected to be his first official appearance. The organizers have confirmed that the event will proceed as planned despite the controversy.
The Cherry Blossom Festival in Kaohsiung’s Qianzhen district is scheduled from the 28th to the 30th. To maintain security and respond to emergencies, 50 police officers will be deployed in advance.
Regarding the police presence at the Taiwan event, authorities stated that the deployment was not specifically for Kim Soo Hyun, and no additional requests were made by the organizers. However, the fan meeting will still see the presence of 50 police officers.
According to festival regulations, tickets for Kim Soo Hyun’s fan meeting were distributed via a lottery system, with participation limited to those aged 18 and older. The event, set to last around 40 minutes, will host 200 selected attendees, with tickets being free except for the festival admission fee.
Despite Kim Soo Hyun’s image suffering a major hit due to the scandal, organizers insist that the event will proceed as planned. However, concerns remain over whether it will run smoothly. The organizers emphasized that since tickets were distributed for free, any schedule changes or cancellations will not entitle attendees to refunds, resales, or exchanges.
In response, both the event organizers and Kim Soo Hyun are facing heavy criticism in Taiwan, with an increasing number of refund requests for the festival tickets. However, Taiwan’s Consumer Protection Committee clarified that since the Cherry Blossom Festival is not a personal concert, refunds are unlikely to be granted.
