“Reply 1988” Cast Is Reuniting For 10th Anniversary, Will Hyeri And Ryu Jun Yeol Join? Ryu Jun Yeol Had This To Say
With the reports of one of the most beloved dramas 10th anniversary, fans are wondering whether its two biggest stars Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol will join the celebration considering their history.
On the 13th of August, OSEN exclusively reported news of the tvN drama “Reply 1988” team’s 10th-anniversary group MT.
Several broadcasting officials told OSEN that the production team and cast are planning a group MT in early October at a certain location in Gangwon Province. However, due to scheduling, it will be impossible for all the cast members to attend. Ryu Jun Yeol, who played the role of Kim Jung Hwan in the drama, will inevitably be absent due to filming his next project.
Regarding this, a source from the production explained to OSEN, “Actor Ryu Jun Yeol is currently in the midst of filming the new Netflix drama ‘The Rat.’ For that reason, it will be difficult for him to attend the group MT.”
“Reply 1988” is a comedic family drama set in 1988, nicknamed the Ssangpal year, portraying the noisy daily lives of five families living in a small alley in Ssangmun-dong, Dobong-gu, Seoul. The drama first aired on November 6, 2015, and ran for 20 episodes until January 16 the following year. In particular, it recorded its highest viewership rating of 18.8% making it the highest-rated drama in the “Reply” series.
However, full attendance for the team was already uncertain due to Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri’s past relationship. The two developed into a couple after meeting in the drama and publicly dated for almost eight years before announcing their breakup in November 2023. Furthermore, Ryu Jun Yeol was publicly involved in another relationship with actress Han So Hee in March last year, which also brought Hyeri into the public spotlight again. Korean media reports Hyeri is scheduled to attend.
