The Two Famous “Dr. Romantic” Stars Reportedly Reuniting For A New Drama

“Dr. Romantic” stars Seo Hyun Jin and Yoo Yeon Seok are reportedly reuniting after eight years.

According to MyDaily on July 3, Seo Hyun Jin and Yoo Yeon Seok will both star in MBC’s upcoming drama “Liar.”

“Liar” tells the story of a man and woman who, after a seemingly perfect first date, find themselves swept into an intense storm of conflicting claims, tangled truths, and lies that take their relationship in an unexpected direction.

Seo Hyun Jin will play Kang Ji Sun, a writing teacher at an arts middle school. After her family faced financial struggles in childhood, she came to believe that identifying others’ lies was more important than simply being honest. Though she initially sees Min Jun Ho as nothing more than a polite parent, she gradually opens her heart to him.

Yoo Yeon Seok will take on the role of Min Jun Ho, a cardiothoracic surgeon. He’s portrayed as the perfect man — gentle and well-mannered, with a handsome appearance, intelligence, emotional insight, and a kind nature. After losing his wife, he raises his teenage son alone and begins to feel butterflies again upon meeting his son’s teacher, Kang Ji Sun.

Seo Hyun Jin is returning to a teacher role for the first time since the 2020 drama “Black Dog,” while Yoo Yeon Seok will be playing a doctor again for the first time since season 2 of “Hospital Playlist,” also in 2020.

This project marks their first on-screen reunion in eight years since the 2017 drama “Dr. Romantic,” raising anticipation over the chemistry they’ll display this time around.
