Famous Veteran Actor’s Wife Passes Away
Veteran actor Shin Goo has bid farewell to his wife.
Shin Goo’s wife, the late Ha Jung Sook, passed away on June 2 at the age of 87.
The funeral is being held in Room 30 of the funeral hall at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. Shin Goo, using his real name “Shin Soon Ki,” is listed as the chief mourner along with his son and daughter-in-law. The funeral procession will take place on June 4 at 5:20 a.m., and the late Ha Jung Sook will be laid to rest at Gwangneung Memorial Park.
Shin Goo and the late Ha Jung Sook married in 1974 and had one son together.
Born in 1936, Shin Goo began his acting career in 1962 through the play “Cow” and was later cast as a special talent for Seoul Central Broadcasting in 1969. He went on to appear in dramas such as “Water Patterns,” “Hope,” “Ruler of Your Own World,” “Sang Doo! Let’s Go to School,” and “I’m Sorry, I Love You.” He also gained popularity through the sitcom “The Unstoppable High Kick.”
Additionally, Shin Goo was beloved for his appearances in the variety show “Grandpas Over Flowers,” produced by Na Young Seok.
Most recently, he appeared in the film “Hi.5,” released in May, playing the role of Young Chun, a cult leader obsessed with immortality.
