Shin Min Ah Shares Her Boyfriend Kim Woo Bin’s Reaction To “No Gain No Love”
Actress Shin Min Ah, who once again proved herself as the “romantic comedy queen” with “No Gain, No Love”, shared her thoughts.
On the morning of the 2nd of October, at a café in Gangnam, Seoul, an interview with Shin Min Ah from the recently ended tvN Monday-Tuesday drama “No Gain, No Love” was conducted.
“No Gain, No Love” is a zero-sum romance drama about a woman, Son Hae Young (played by Shin Min Ah), who dislikes losing so much that she holds a wedding, and a man, Kim Ji Wook (played by Kim Young Dae), who becomes the groom because he doesn’t want to cause harm. In the drama, Shin Min Ah portrayed Son Hae Young, a character who, no matter where or when, in any situation, dislikes losing, but is infinitely warm toward her loved ones.
Regarding the theme of a fake marriage, Shin Min Ah said, “In fact, there have been works that dealt with fake marriages before,” and added, “I think the subject of finding a fake groom because of the wedding gifts was fresh.”
As for recovering wedding gifts, she said, “I have never thought that wedding gifts were a waste,” but added, “However, there were many people around me who sympathized with the subject of wedding gifts.”
When asked if there were any parts of her that resembled Son Hae Young, she said, “As I filmed the drama, I found myself understanding Son Hae Young in many ways. I think there are points where we are similar,” and added with a laugh, “I want to have her quick-thinking and ability to handle situations well.”
Meanwhile, Shin Min Ah has been publicly dating fellow actor Kim Woo Bin for 9 years. When asked about Kim Woo Bin’s reaction to “No Gain, No Love”, she said, “He told me he watched it and enjoyed it,” sharing a warm feedback.
When the topic of Kim Woo Bin came up in media interviews, Shin Min Ah opened up, saying, “It’s not that it’s uncomfortable, but I’m cautious because I wonder if it might affect the project.” She explained that she refrains from talking about him to respect the romantic comedy genre and the love line in the drama, to maintain viewers’ immersion and consideration for her co-star.
As for the reactions of those around her, she said, “My friends told me it was really fun. I love doing comedic acting so much, so when someone says I was funny, it makes me really excited. I gained a lot of strength from my friends who are the same age.”
She concluded, saying, “The wrap-up of the fake marriage and the closure with her mother also seemed to be completed in the final episode. There are abilities of Hae Young’s that weren’t fully shown in the drama, but I have no doubt in the future path that lies ahead for Hae Young,” offering a special cheer for the character she portrayed.
