One Of The Biggest Hallyu Actors Is Discussing Coming Back With A High School Youth Drama Following Military Discharge
One of the biggest Hallyu actors, Song Kang, is reportedly set to make his comeback with a youth drama following his military discharge later this year.
According to a SPOTV News exclusive on June 30, Song Kang has been cast as the lead in the new drama “Four Hands,” which he will begin working on after completing his military service this October.
Later, a source from his agency confirmed this is one of the projects he’s currently reviewing, with no decision being made yet.
“Four Hands” is named after the piano technique where two people play one piano together. The drama will depict the friendship, love, rivalry, and growth of youths who meet at an arts high school, and will follow their coming-of-age journey into adulthood.
Song Kang will reportedly play a genius pianist with a sharp, sensitive charm. With fans already anticipating his return in a more mature form post-military, expectations are high for what new sides he’ll show in this role.
Song Kang enlisted in the military as an active-duty soldier on April 2, 2023, and is scheduled to be discharged on October 1, 2025. While final decisions regarding the drama are expected to be made after his discharge, it’s highly likely that “Four Hands” will mark his official comeback project.
Often referred to as the “Prince of Netflix,” Song Kang rose to fame through hits like Netflix’s Love Alarm and Sweet Home, becoming one of the most recognizable faces among the MZ generation. He also starred in Navillera, Nevertheless, Forecasting Love and Weather, and My Demon, solidifying his status as a top actor with global appeal.
Before his enlistment, he wrapped up several high-profile projects including Sweet Home Season 3, hosting I-LAND 2, and making a special appearance in the film Escape, minimizing the feeling of a hiatus for his fans.
“Four Hands” is currently in the casting and production preparation stages, and fans can look forward to seeing Song Kang back on screen in the near future.
