Former Idol Actor Song Won Geun Announces Marriage

Former idol actor Song Won Geun has announced his marriage.

Song Won Geun shared the news on his social media on August 11th, writing, “Since you’re the people who have always been with me through my precious moments as I walked this path as an actor, I wanted to share this news with you first, myself,” adding, “Sharing this news makes me a little cautious and nervous, but I’ve met someone I want to spend my life with, and I’m about to start a new life with that person.” With that, he announced his marriage.

He continued, “Honestly, I’d reached the age where the term ‘old bachelor’ started to fit me, but now I finally get to shed that label,” adding, “It feels a little surreal to me too, but more than anything, I’m truly happy.”

Song Won Geun said, “Looking back, the only reason I’ve been able to walk this path as an actor until now is because of all of you, who have supported me with unwavering hearts,” and “That’s why simply saying I’m happy about this new beginning called marriage doesn’t feel like enough, given how much gratitude I feel toward you all.”

He added, “Marriage is a new beginning in my life, but I’ll keep walking forward just as sincerely as I have now, learning more and thinking more deeply, so that I can continue to meet you all through good projects and good performances,” and continued, “I’m truly grateful to you for always trusting and supporting me. Please stay healthy, and I hope your days are always filled with laughter and happiness.”

Song Won Geun debuted in 2000 as a member of the group “OPPA,” and has appeared in dramas such as “Princess Aurora,” “Apgujeong Midnight Sun,” “Tomorrow’s Victory,” and “Bride of the Water God,” as well as performing in numerous musicals, connecting with audiences on stage.
