“Squid Game” Seasons 2 And 3 Reportedly Wrapped Up Filming Already, Netflix Comments
The filming for the new series of Netflix’s “Squid Game” has reportedly been completed, and season 2 and season 3 are scheduled to be released sequentially according to new media reports.
According to a report by OSEN on the 14th of June, the actors and staff of the Netflix original series “Squid Game” recently finished filming for seasons 2 and 3. They started filming in July last year and completed the 11-month journey in June this year. To celebrate this, they went on a one-night, two-day congratulatory party in Gapyeong on the 11th and 12th, where they enjoyed various leisure activities and a barbecue party to commemorate the end of filming and wish for the success of the show.
Earlier, it was reported exclusively by OSEN last year that seasons 2 and 3 would be produced simultaneously, but Netflix denied this, saying, “Currently, we are focusing on season 2, and simultaneous production is not confirmed.”
However, multiple insiders confirmed that “it is true that season 2 and season 3 of ‘Squid Game’ were filmed simultaneously” and that “strictly speaking, it is like shooting a long story and releasing it as season 2 and 3.”
It is also being reported that season 2 of “Squid Game” will consist of 6 episodes, and season 3 is also planned to have a similar number of episodes (6-7). It will be released in a similar format as Netflix’s past hit series “The Glory.” As a result, the gap between seasons 2 and 3 is expected to be relatively short.
In response to this Netflix said, “We’re in the final stages of preparing for the release of ‘Squid Game’ Season 2. We can’t provide definitive details about Season 3 yet.”
Meanwhile, ‘Squid Game’ season 2 is slated to be released some time this 2024.
