2025 Popular K-Drama “Study Group” Confirmed To Be Returning With 2nd Season

“Study Group 2” is expected to return with a second season.

“Study Group” is a TVING original series that premiered on January 23 and featured former NU’EST member Hwang Minhyun, along with Han Ji Eun, Cha Woo Min, Lee Jong Hyun, Shin Soo Hyun, and Yoon Sang Jung. The drama received much love from viewers for its unique cast combination and intense action in a school setting.

In fact, “Study Group” led a school-drama boom, ranking No.1 in contributing to paid TVING subscriptions for five consecutive weeks.

As a result, production company Studio Dragon announced on its official website on May 8 during the 2025 Q1 earnings report that “Study Group Season 2” is confirmed as part of their plans for the first quarter. They also mentioned they are “considering new formats such as an interquel,” sparking even more curiosity. An interquel is a follow-up that covers events occurring between two seasons.

According to Star News on the morning of the 12th, “Study Group” Season 2 is indeed in its early planning stage. However, details such as cast, platform, and format have not yet been finalized.

Studio Dragon told Star News, “Season 2 of ‘Study Group’ is in the early planning phase,” and gave a positive outlook regarding its production.
