Suzy And Lee Soo Hyuk’s Highly Anticipated Collaboration Falls Through As He Exits Production
The highly anticipated pairing of actors Lee Soo Hyuk and Suzy in the new drama “Men Of The Harem” has ultimately fallen through. Lee Soo Hyuk recently made the final decision to leave the project, leaving his role vacant.
According to an Xportsnews report on August 19th, Lee Soo Hyuk has decided to cancel his appearance in the new Netflix series “Men Of The Harem” and officially exit the project. Based on the popular Naver web novel of the same name by author Alpha Tart, the series is a palace romance fantasy that follows the turbulent story of Empress Latille, who takes in male concubines to protect her throne. Lee Soo Hyuk had originally been cast as one of Empress Latille’s (played by Suzy) key concubines, and was expected to share intense on-screen chemistry with her.
However, with production already in the middle of full-scale filming, Lee Soo Hyuk’s sudden departure has left a key role vacant. Regarding this, his agency Person Entertainment stated, “He decided to leave the project due to scheduling reasons,” as the official explanation, while declining to give specifics on whether filming will continue as planned or how the schedule will be adjusted going forward.
Lee Soo Hyuk has already wrapped filming on Netflix’s “Grand Galaxy Hotel” and “Dealer,” and is currently awaiting their releases one after another. While the anticipated palace romance pairing with Suzy unfortunately did not come to pass, fans and industry insiders are now turning their attention to what other new project Lee Soo Hyuk will take on next following his exit.
Led by Suzy, “Men Of The Harem” also boasts a star-studded lineup including Shin Seung Ho, Kim Dan, and Yoo Jung Hoo, and is set to premiere worldwide on Netflix next year.
