Disney+ Begins Teasing Its Biggest K-Drama of the Year
Actress Shin Min Ah-led series “The Remarried Empress” is set to premiere this fall.
Disney+ unveiled the teaser poster for “The Remarried Empress” on July 27, opening the curtain on this fall’s most sophisticated imperial scandal.
The released teaser poster commands attention with the striking presence of Empress Navier (Shin Min Ah), standing alone in the middle of a solemn courtroom. Her composed, dignified figure — without a hint of disarray — fully captures the grace and untouchable authority befitting the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire.
In particular, the line “I accept the divorce. And I demand approval for my remarriage,” is the iconic quote that captivated fans of the original webtoon, and serves as the spark that will send shockwaves through the empire. Facing the immense trial of her husband’s betrayal and their divorce, Navier refuses to break, instead choosing to forge a new, self-determined path and destiny. Shin Min Ah, radiating undeniable visual perfection and aura, is set to vividly portray Navier’s dignity and leadership through her signature elegant charisma and emotionally layered performance.
“The Remarried Empress” is a romantic fantasy epic that unfolds after Navier, the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire, is informed of her divorce by Emperor Sovieshu (Joo Ji Hoon), who has fallen for the escaped slave Rashta (Lee Se Young). Rather than simply accepting the divorce, Navier demands approval to remarry Heinrey (Lee Jong Suk), the prince of the Western Kingdom.
The series is a live-action adaptation of the legendary IP of the same name, which sparked a worldwide sensation as a webtoon with a cumulative 2.97 billion views (as of July 2026), and marks Disney+’s first K-romance fantasy.
