Star-Studded Kdrama Previously Delayed Due To Lead Actor’s DUI Finally Confirms Release Date
The long-awaited series “Villains” is finally set to be released.
According to a report by Herald POP on November 7, the TVING original series “Villains” has confirmed its premiere date for December 18.
“Villains” is a crime drama depicting the bloody clashes and confrontations between villains surrounding an ultra-precise counterfeit bill known as the “Supernote.”
The series is directed by Jin Hyuk, known for dramas such as “The Tale of Lady Ok,” “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” and “The Master’s Sun,” with the screenplay written by Kim Hyung Joon, who directed the film “No Mercy.”
The drama was originally scheduled for release in 2023, but its timeline was delayed after lead actor Kwak Do Won was booked in September 2022 for driving under the influence.
Now that a release date has been finalized, expectations are rising for the acting transformations of Yoo Ji Tae and Lee Min Jung. Many are curious to see what kind of synergy the two will create with director Jin Hyuk, who received great love earlier this year for “The Tale of Lady Ok.”
Meanwhile, TVING recently formed a strategic partnership with global OTT platform Disney+ and officially launched the “TVING Collection” within Japan’s Disney+.
