Famous Webtoon Writer Divorces From Former Kpop Idol, News Belatedly Revealed To Correct A False Report
It has been belatedly reported that webtoon writer Park Tae Joon (41), known from Ulzzang Generation, has divorced former girl group member Choi Soo Jung (37). Park has clarified that the previously reported property division lawsuit is not true.
On the 28th of August, one media outlet reported, “It has been confirmed that Park Tae Joon divorced Choi Soo Jung last year. A close acquaintance revealed that the two are currently engaged in a property division lawsuit.”
However, another outlet on the same day stated after a phone call with Park, “Park Tae Joon admitted, ‘It’s true that I divorced Choi Soo Jung. Talks began early last year, and the divorce mediation was finalized in August of the same year with paperwork completed.’”
In the call, Park reportedly said, “The property division lawsuit is not true, we divorced amicably by mutual agreement. The reason for the divorce was personality differences. Since it wasn’t good news, I didn’t feel the need to make it public. I also didn’t want to cause harm to the other party, so I didn’t mention it.”
Their marriage became known in 2020, when Park appeared on MBC’s variety show Radio Star in October and revealedthey’ve dated for 10 years before registering their marriage.
Park Tae Joon first gained popularity in 2009 through Ulzzang Generation, later appearing in various variety shows such as Flower Boys Company and Gourmet Road. He then transitioned into a webtoon writer, creating popular works including Lookism, How to Fight, and Manager Kim. He also founded the webtoon production company The Dream Entertainment, producing multiple works.
Choi Soo Jung debuted in 2010 as a member of the Korea-China joint girl group Lotte Girls. In 2018, she appeared in the web drama Check, Mate. She also starred in the music video for RAM’s “Might Die Like This,” where she acted alongside Park Tae Joon.
