Won Bin Among The First To Visit Kim Sae Ron’s Funeral, Looks Noticeably Devastated
As actress Kim Sae Ron’s sudden passing shocks the industry, celebrities including Won Bin and Han So Hee have visited her funeral to pay their respects.
On the 17th of February, a memorial service for Kim Sae Ron was set up at the funeral hall of Asan Medical Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul, where stars have been arriving to offer condolences.
Won Bin, who shared a connection with Kim Sae Ron through the 2010 movie The Man from Nowhere, attended with a solemn expression. In the film, Won Bin played Tae Sik, a former special agent, while Kim Sae Ron portrayed So Mi, a young girl kidnapped by a criminal organization. The movie’s success catapulted Kim Sae Ron into the spotlight as a rising star in Chungmuro. Though Won Bin has rarely appeared in projects since The Man from Nowhere, aside from occasional commercials, he came to bid farewell to Kim Sae Ron. His agency also sent a condolence wreath in the names of Won Bin and his wife, Lee Na Young.
Close friends from the entertainment industry, including Han So Hee and Kim Bora, also attended the funeral. Fellow actors arrived with solemn expressions to pay their last respects. Kim Bora, in particular, sent a wreath with the message, “See you again. I’ll nag you less then,” expressing her grief.
Additionally, Ma Dong Seok, who worked with Kim Sae Ron in the 2018 film The Villagers, sent a condolence wreath. Actors Gong Myung and the band FTISLAND also sent floral tributes. Meanwhile, actresses Kim Ok Bin and Seo Ye Ji mourned Kim Sae Ron’s passing through social media.
Kim Sae Ron was found deceased at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, the previous day. A friend who had planned to meet her visited her home, sensed something was wrong, and reported it to the police. Authorities stated that there were no signs of forced entry or criminal activity.
Her funeral is scheduled for the 19th at 6:20 AM, though the burial site has not yet been determined.
