Yoo Ah In Accused Of Sexually Assaulting A Man, Lawyer Denies New Allegations
A New report about a Yoo Ah In allegation has been circulating online and fans are shocked!
On the 25th of June, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced that actor Yoo Ah In (38, real name Uhm Hong Sik) has been booked on charges of sexually assaulting a man. Yoo is accused of sexually assaulting a man, referred to as A (30), who was sleeping in an officetel in Yongsan District on the 14th. Under current law, same-sex sexual assault is classified as quasi-rape.
A was reportedly sleeping at the officetel from 6 AM to 4 PM on the day of the incident. He realized he had been sexually assaulted after waking up and filed a police report the next day. The officetel where the incident occurred belongs to a third party, not Yoo or A, and other men were present at the scene at the time. The police are also investigating the possibility that Yoo, who is currently on trial for habitual drug use, committed the crime under the influence of drugs.
Yoo Ah In is already facing charges for administering propofol 181 times from September 2020 to March 2022 and for illegally purchasing sleeping pills under another person’s name from May 2021 to August 2022. On the 24th, the prosecution requested a sentence of four years in prison, a fine of 2 million won, and an additional charge of about 1.5 million won. In his final defense, Yoo’s side pleaded for leniency, citing his struggles with depression, anxiety disorders, and insomnia, which led to recommendations for hospitalization and the use of sedatives.
Yoo Ah In’s legal representative stated, “The allegations against Yoo Ah In are not true,” and urged the public to refrain from unnecessary speculation regarding his private life.
