Actors Yoo Yeon Seok, Chae Soo Bin, Heo Nam Joon, and Jang Gyu Ri are coming together for ‘The Call You Made.’
The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama ‘The Call You Made’ is a secret romance-thriller that starts with a threatening phone call, revolving around a married couple in a 3-year marriage of convenience. It is based on a popular Kakao Page novel of the same name.
Recently, the main cast lineup consisting of Yoo Yeon Seok, Chae Soo Bin, Heo Nam Joon, and Jang Gyu Ri was revealed, raising expectations.
Yoo Yeon Seok takes on the role of ‘Baek Sa Eon,’ a man with a perfect background, appearance, and abilities. He is the youngest spokesperson for the president’s office, having experience as a war correspondent, hostage negotiation expert, and anchor for a public broadcast station. Baek Sa Eon is a person who maintains a clean image through meticulous self-management but shows a cold side toward his wife, Hong Hee Joo, living as a “show window couple.”
Chae Soo Bin plays Baek Sa Eon’s wife, ‘Hong Hee Joo.’ Suffering from mutism due to an accident during her childhood, she works as a sign language interpreter with excellent skills. Although she is in a strategic marriage with Baek Sa Eon, living as a show window couple, she decides to change her life after being kidnapped by a mysterious figure.
Heo Nam Joon portrays ‘Ji Sang Woo,’ a charming psychiatrist with a kind personality. He also runs a mystery-themed YouTube channel with 200,000 subscribers and enjoys delving into unsolved cases. However, this eventually leads him to become entangled in an irreversible incident.
Lastly, Jang Gyu Ri takes on the role of ‘Na Yoo Ri,’ a bright and lovely announcer. Graduating from a prestigious university, Na Yoo Ri has both outstanding looks and natural sociability. She looks up to Baek Sa Eon, the anchor she idolizes, as her role model, without knowing that his wife is the sign language interpreter Hong Hee Joo, who works alongside her on the news.
‘The Call You Made’ is written by Kim Ji Woon, who was recognized for solid storylines and development in dramas such as ‘Melancholia’ and ‘Doctor John,’ and directed by Park Sang Woo.
