Popular Actor Caught Drunk Driving And Stealing A Motorcycle Drunk Leaves Drama In The Middle Of Filming
Actor Yoon Ji On (35) is stepping down from a drama he was in the middle of filming.
According to News1’s coverage on the 17th of September, Yoon Ji On is leaving Channel A’s new drama “I Got a Baby” which is scheduled to air next year.
Later, Yoon Ji On’s former agency Ieum Hashtag confirmed the report, saying, “It is true that Yoon Ji On has stepped down from the Channel A drama ‘I Got a Baby,’ which he was filming, after being caught for drunk driving.”
On July 6, Yoon Ji On’s exclusive contract with the agency expired, and while he was looking for a new agency, he caused a drunk driving accident and ended up suspending his entertainment activities.
“I Got a Baby” began filming in July, and currently the script is out up to episode 6. Yoon Ji On participated in filming even until last week, and had a schedule planned for this week as well, but with his drunk driving being caught, stepping down became unavoidable.
The report alleges that People around expressed surprise, saying they did not know about Yoon Ji On’s departure, adding they were “flustered.” Since “I Got a Baby” was originally scheduled to film until this December, they said they are bewildered at his sudden departure when more than half of the drama has already been filmed.
Yoon Ji On debuted in 2013 through theater, and began to be properly noticed with “Be Melodramatic” (2019). After that, he was active in “Monthly Magazine Home” (2021), “You Are My Spring” (2021), “Jirisan” (2021), “Tomorrow” (2022), “My Lovely Liar” and many more.
The actor has since admitted to drunk driving in an apology statement to his SNS account.
Meanwhile, “I Got a Baby” is based on a popular Naver webtoon of the same name. It is a reverse rom-com about two men and women who had said there would be no marriage in this life, but end up in a speed violation after a one-night deviation. The broadcast timing is the first half of next year.
