the police is onto kingfisher, Dong Jin gets a scoop and sweeps in with a squad. Layla gets into a heated confrontation with Bo Na and after both of them fight, Tae-Seong sees her pointing the gun and interferes. Layla runs away but as Bo na chases after her, she gets shot badly trying to make sure her husband does not get shot.
Tae-Seong panics and begins to look for an exit while the police closes in. he gets led by Bo Na’s team. Then police closes in on Layla and call her kingfisher, she points the gun at them and gets shot fatally and dies on the spot.
Bo Na gets rushed to help and gets surgery, the bullet missed vital organs and she wakes up fine. Tae-Seong is there for her but she refuses to see him or stay stating he will never look at her the same. She runs away from him and their family.
Tae-Seong does not take it well and neither does their daughter. Even his mother and sisters blame him for this as he tries to find her. Seul Gi says goodbye to him but refuses to elaborate on where Bo Na is. Dong Jin is not convinced he found the real kingfisher but closes the case.
Dong jin sort of got the hint of who the real kingfisher is and after a small phone conversation with Tae-Seong decides to bury the truth. Young-Do sees Se A and says they cannot be together due to what he does, they shake hands and part ways.
Tae-min is cooped up because of Bo na’s disappearance but Hyun-Nam encourages him to get out and experience the world.
As time passes by, Tae-Seong even makes sure that kingfisher’s name is removed from a case where his name was brought up.
6 months later
its snowing and Tae-Seong recalls his time with BoNa and their beautiful snowy kiss. He then figures out where she might be so he chases her to a place they visited together. He ends up finding her there and begs her to come back. The couple eventually hug and she returns.
Tae-Seong’s mother now owns the shop and we find out that Bo na sold it to her for cheap. Bo na returns to her family and participates in family events as per normal.
We find out some time later as summer comes by that Dong jin refused his promotion and even asked to be demoted. Tae-Seong tells him to come back and make sure no new kingfisher is created.
Then on a new day as Bona cleans, she sees terrible news of a terrible man, she gets a call, she replies with, “okay, shall we go?”
