Se Gye gets badly stabbed and is found by people nearby, he gets transported to the hospital with Seori crying by his side.

Then we get a flashback to when the banished grandprince gets a letter and soup from the queen dawger. He reads the letter and is told by his majesty to drink it and die as a sinner to save her, he obliges and drinks the soup. He begins writing a letter and in the middle of it, begins coughing blood. He is then fatally stabbed by a man sent by his majesty.

We then get several flashbacks and Dan Sim is transported back to the Joseon era and sees the face of the unknown actress friend who ruined her in the present there, she learns the past is changing and makes sure to try and save him this time. She takes the letter and soup to him and then as they discuss, she throws away the soup telling him not to drink it. They get confronted by the same guard who killed him the 1st time and make a run for it.

The prince defends them but ultimately, Dan Sim dies trying to save him as she gets shot by an arrow. Both fall into the deep water. In the meantime, Se Gye wakes up and immediately begins searching for Seori and does not find her initially, he even begs his grandpa for help.

They ultimately locate her but she’s now in a coma, so Se Gye spends a while trying to do whatever it takes to make her wake up. He is besides himself and sad.

Dan Sim is in a place between life and death where she’s given the time she needs to process and decide on her next step. The Shaman from the present tries to explain this to Se Gye who refuses to hear it. Tae hee goes there to comfort him and mentions seeing a painting at the museum nearby of a woman who looked a lot like Seori. He goes there to see it. Se Gye cries hard and even feels pain in his chest where he was stabbed.

As he heads out after this, he sees rose petals falling and Seori’s voice calling out for him from behind. The two share a hug. Later, Seori tells him how he saved her life. Then we get a glimpse back to the past of Dan Sim and the prince still alive but running away from authorities.

Mun Do holds a press conference to clarify everything and gets ambushed by Seori who wants to make him pay. As reporters exit, Se Gye informs he’s no longer the acting CEO and is now not an employee. He gets arrested and is escorted out.

Gwang-Nam hands in his resignation and discovers that Ji-Hyo has been blacklisted by managers for her attitude. Ji-Hyo is still being harassed by her ex and he even tries to harm her, Gwang-Nam interferes and blocks his attempts.

Seori visits Mun Do in prison and reveals people are lining up to bring him down. She asks if he believes in fate and he pushes back. Then, she tells him he missed his chance at redeeming himself. He will rot in jail while all of that eats at him.

His son is with his grandpa and the aunties are doing well.

Gwang-Nam looks for a job but gets blocked by Ji-Hyo while he’s at an interview location. She wants him to be her manager.

Visiting the beach one last time, Shin Seori vowed, “I’m not going to live complaining about the world anymore. I’m going to live freely and fully, like frost flowers that bloom in the heat of summer.”

Looking at Shin Seori, Cha Segye confessed, “I love you, Shin Seori.” The two then shared a passionate kiss and promised each other eternal love.
