“No Tail To Tell” Ending Explained

SBS has aired the finale of “No Tail To Tell” a couple of hours ago. Let’s recap and explain the ending!

“No Tail To Tell” episode 12 recap

Si-Yeol gets fatally stabbed. Eun Ho cries for him. Recalling the box she gave him, Woo Seok sees the news and finds out that Si Yeol has been badly hurt. He arrives at the hospital bed and sees Eun Ho crying. The doctor told her he likely won’t make it through the night.

Eun Ho recalls what Lord Pagun told her about dying or being together with him. She talks to Woo Seo,k and they visit the location of the place she saw in her vision. There, she asks him to stab her with a special sword that will make sure to reverse all the things she did, making everyone forget her.

She then sees Si Yeol right before he,r cryi,ng seeing her badly hurt with the sword. She says she might not know how the world will look but is glad that she saved his life. She tells him to live a happy live and move on, she vanishes.

Si Yeol weeps as she leaves.

At the crossing, the weather is so bad that no boat can sail through the sea. Eun Ho sits there with tears in her eyes, waiting it out.

Si Yeol visits the doctor and is initially told he has a year, but then, the chart changes, and it says he’s doing super well.

A year passes, then 9 years pass

Si Yeol meets Woo Seok, who now runs his own restaurant and says he’s retiring. Si Yeol talks about how he feels Eun Ho’s presence, and Woo Seok tells him to snap out of it and just forget her and move on. The friends also discuss how the building he bought, where Woo Seok’s apartment was is being demolished and rebuilt; there is no way he can preserve it any longer. He goes there to see it and recalls his time with Eun Ho.

He then feels she’s by his side and gets on top of a building, threatening to jump off. He realizes he sounds ridiculous so as he’s getting off, he accidentally slips, Eun Ho then shows up and catches him. GeuM ho watches from afar happy they’re finally together.

The two discuss what happened and Eun Ho says they should not meet again, Si Yeol insists they should be together and not be apart and he misses her terribly. HE finds out she came back about a year ago too and has been watching over him.

Eventually, he convinces her they should be together and that he’s ok he’ll grow old while she wouldn’t. He wants them to be together.

The couple go on a date and Eun Ho brings out A-list photographers and directors to capture their moments together. They feel awkward with them everywhere but persist. Eventually, as the night draws in, they leave and go back to her place.

There, Si Yeol sees Geum Ho again, she explains she’s the one who saved his life using the beads she hid away. Eventually, the couple has a moment to themselves and she explains to him how much Geum Ho changed and how fierce she is. Jang Do-Cheol also came back and tried to hunt what he thought was a weak fox but Geum Ho made him pay for it. He met the same fate as in the past.

We also find out that Lee Yoon landed himself in prison all on his own.

Si Yeol speaks about retiring and owning a club where he met those previous friends of his. He wants to try that out. The couple fall asleep together and wake up in the morning. Eun Ho sees into the future he being at his grave, he passes away nearly at a 100 years old indicating they’ve lived a long happy life together. Eun Ho says she feels all of this what meant to happen.

The couple leave to a deserted island together and Eun Ho explains she’s building a castle, then they discuss the boats and the dock will be, Si Yeol says they need one since he can’t always count on her assistance because what could happen if they fight or what not, Eun Ho pranks him but later confirms she’ll build one. The couple walks away on the beach happily.
