“Reborn Rookie” Bizarre Ending Explained

“Reborn Rookie” has concluded its run airing its final episode, the 12^th, earlier today. Lets talk about it and why some fans found it bizarre!

Jun-Hyeon confronts Jae-Gyeong who is convinced it was her dad. He tells her she’s found her father’s real killer. He sets his demands now that everything’s over, he hands in the blank check and he wants Choiseong Group.

He then exits the premise terrified and we find out that Jun Hyeon is back in his body and that the chairman is doing well. We find out that he woke up and was assisted by Jae-Gyeong’s husband. Despite his condition being unstable, he rushes to Jun-Hyeon’s side. Jae-Sung gets a call from his wife who reveals she’ll hand herself to authorities and admits to her role in the death of his father. He then barges in on his father in law with police and announces his daughter has turned on him.

Jun-Hyeon gets chased by Jae-Gyeong’s men and manages to stay alive until police and the chairman arrive for him.

As things cool down a bit, the chairman sees his daughter, Bang-Geul, they share a tearful meal together. Bang-Geul also tells her mother her dad is alive and well.

Jun-Hyeon goes back to his place and to his grandma, he cries seeing how things have improved for the better now. He thanks his manager too who feels something is off because he’s too polite.

The chairman prepares to oust his daughter and sees his son prepared everything for him along with an apology letter, he says he doesn’t have the strength to face him yet but will try his best to improve.

Jae-Gyeong finds her brother called for an emergency board meeting and then finds out her dad’s alive. She goes to see him. He asks her one last time to stop and maybe they can go back to the way things were. She refuses to take his hands and has her men kidnap him.

Jun-Hyeon and the manager arrive at the board meeting. Jae-Gyeong thinks she won but he shows up and reveals some of her bad deeds to the investors. Then, her dad shows up, he’s been saved by Bang Geul. They deliver the final blow to her and she feels utterly humiliated.

As she gets escorted outside, the chairman watches on when Jae-Sung’s wife tries to run her over but the chairman interferes and gets badly injured himself. Jae-Gyeong cries watching her dad on the floor and asks why he did it.

2 years later

we find out that Jae-Gyeong is now in a mental facility unable to move from what she did to herself and to her dad. She erased who she was and doesn’t even remember her own name but does remember her husband’s.

We find out that Seon-Hee is now a famous youtuber who has a lot of subscribers. Jae-Sung is not in jail and is doing well overseas with his sons. He plans on visiting soon and keeps a good relationship with Seon-Hee.

Lee Sang-Jae is now the CEO of the company and manager park is a director. Bang-Geul has become an ace who delivers blows to whoever does something wrong, she oversaw mergers and more. She’s now also happily dating Jun-Hyeon.

We find out the chairman’s alive and well. Jun-Hyeon wants to introduce him to his girlfriend and he suspects its his daughter. He sees them kissing and runs towards them, at the same time, ITZY’s Ryujin makes an appearance and runs into the two of them.

Right then and there, another swap happens with Ryujin and Jun-Hyeon who loses his mind seeing he’s in a different body as both get rushed to their respective lives, both yell out again.
