“The Art Of Sarah” Ending Explained, Who Killed Sarah Kim?

Sarah Kim shows up at the station and confronts Mu Gyeong, she says her name is Kim Mi Jeong and she’s been impersonating Sarah Kim, she killed her in order to throw off the investigation.

She says she killed her so she’d live as Sarah Kim. The detectives remark that if it turns out that Sarah Kim is an innocent victim, the BouDoir fraud case will be closed due to lack of authority.

Mu Gyeong confronts her about her actions and her willingness to go down in order to save the brand and says its a lie, but she says that nobody liked Sarah Kim and no one would care if she’s dead.

We find out that prior to this, Sarah or Mi Jeong in this case called Yeo-Jin to tell her that her company now has the majority of shareholder value in BouDoir. The detective tells Sarah that she cannot prove she’s not her and that she once donated a kidney in the past and they still have tissue in a hospital and it’ll be proven that she’s wrong.

She tells him she can explain the actual story he wants to hear but he says he’ll tell her. So he re-tells the events with Choi Chae-U arriving at the party with Kang Ji-Hwan, whom she lied to police about. She knew of their identity. Then, her actor friend says a Harvard graduate who went to the same class and same year as her wants to meet her, she tries to bail out but is forced to confront him.

Kang Ji-Hwan is pissed she conned him, she keeps asking how much he knows and he’s furious. She tells him its his fault he was tricked because he was so materialistic. She tells him no one knows they know each other and they should remain strangers.

Choi Chae-U catches her and explains Ji Hwan is now on her side. She wants a 30% commission. Sarah is blind-sided and asks to be given time to think it through, she’s told she has until this party ends.

Then, she is confronted by Mi Jeong and they get into a fight. The detective says she killed her in cold blood, then went to Choi Chae-U and said she agrees to her terms, used a luggage bag to hide the woman’s body and dispose of it around Choi Chae-U’s department area since she knew it like the back of her hand. However, Mi Jeong was alive so she crawled the sewers but ended up freezing to death before being discovered.

Then, a detective calls him and explains the sample is gone. So now, they can only accept her words since there is no way to verify if she’s Sarah or Mi Jeong. She then explains to him what happened. Mi Jeong and Sarah get into an argument and Mi Jeong explains that the CCTV cameras are not working, they get into a fight and Mi Jeong’s body accidentally slams into a table, she’s badly hurt.

Sarah goes out to seek help and stumbles upon Hong Sung-Shin who asks if this is Eun Jae, she runs away with blood on her hands back to the room and decides to kill her.

Sarah says she admits to all the charges as Mi Jeong and denies any accusations as if she’s Sarah Kim. Mu Gyeong gets the 3^rd degree from his superior and as its now 6 p.m., he decides to write the arrest warrant in Mi Jeong’s name so she does not get away.

Eventually, she’s taken into custody and later charged with murder, she’s sentenced to 10 years in jail. Mu Gyeong gets promoted to chief following the case’s conclusion.

In the first day of prison, we can see she has a kidney scar, so this proves she’s indeed Sarah Kim.

In prison, she’s doing well. She gets a visit from Mu Gyeong who explains that her brand is doing well and the fake Sarah’s funeral with conducted as Jane Doe. He asks if she’s satisfied, she says the only satisfaction is the word itself. He then asks her a simple question, ‘whats your name?’
