Girlfriend Of Lee Jin Ho Allegedly Reported Him To Police Over His Drunk Driving
Reports have alleged that the person who reported comedian Lee Jin Ho for drunk driving was none other than his girlfriend.
According to the Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency, Yangpyeong Police arrested Lee Jin Ho around 3 a.m. of the 24th of September on charges of drunk driving from Incheon to Yangpyeong after receiving a report. He was caught with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.11%, a level high enough for license revocation.
His agency, SM C&C, later stated, “After confirming with Lee Jin Ho himself, he admitted to drunk driving early this morning. He has completed the questioning requested by the police at the time of the arrest and is now awaiting the outcome. Lee Jin Ho fully acknowledges his wrongdoing without any excuses and is deeply reflecting on his actions. The agency also takes responsibility and will ensure that Lee Jin Ho faithfully complies with any legal measures and penalties.”
In another report on the same day, Dispatch reported, “In the early morning of the 24th, Lee Jin Ho had drinks with his girlfriend in Incheon, during which an argument broke out. Afterwards, he got behind the wheel and drove about 100 km to his home in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province. His girlfriend reported him for drunk driving. Incheon Police received the case and requested cooperation from Yangpyeong Police. Yangpyeong Police then waited near his residence and arrested him on the spot.”
Following the arrest, Lee Jin Ho underwent questioning at the Yangpyeong Police Station.
Lee Jin Ho debuted in 2005 as a comedian through SBS’s special recruitment program but had already faced expulsion from the entertainment industry due to illegal gambling allegations. In 2020, he admitted on Instagram that he had started playing on an illegal online gambling site, which left him with unmanageable debts. He was also involved in a controversy for borrowing money from BTS’s Jimin and entertainer Lee Soo Geun without repaying them.
