Lee Yi Kyung Denies Shading Yoo Jae Suk At The 2025 AAA After Speech Goes Viral
Actor Lee Yi Kyung made his first public appearance after being swept up in personal-life rumors and his speech triggered a lot of reactions from fans and some criticism.
On the afternoon of the 6th of December, the “10th Anniversary Asia Artist Awards 2025” (AAA 2025) was held at Kaohsiung National Stadium.
The ceremony was hosted by Lee Junho and Jang Won Young, and Lee Yi Kyung went on stage after receiving the AAA Best Choice Award.
Standing on stage, Lee Yi Kyung began by saying, “I sincerely thank everyone involved for giving me this award and allowing me to use my voice at the end of 2025. I also want to express my gratitude to my agency’s CEO.”
He then said, “This may not be something that fits the festive atmosphere, but I want to speak honestly. Recently, it felt like I was hit by hail that wasn’t even in the weather forecast. The suspect has been emailing my agency asking for an apology and leniency. I’m going to catch them no matter what.”
He continued, “Is SNL watching? I’m taking Thursdays off now. And HaHa hyung, Woojae hyung, I miss you. Thank you,” before leaving the stage.
Due to his mention of fellow variety show stars and leaving out Yoo Jae Suk’s name, some netizens interpreted this as him shading the nation’s MC. Controversy grew afterward because he also mentioned Thursday—the filming day for Hangout With You—and referred to cast members HaHa and Joo Woo Jae, but did not mention Yoo Jae Suk. This led to speculation that he was indirectly targeting Yoo Jae Suk.
Later, his agency responded to allegations that he took a jab at Yoo Jae Suk.
On the 7th, Lee Yi Kyung’s agency, Sangyeong ENT, stated, “He did not target Yoo Jae Suk. There is absolutely no reason for him to do so. We hope people will take his acceptance speech exactly as it was,” denying the accusations.
