Its been reported that Comedian Park Na Rae has been hit with a provisional seizure request from her former manager. The claimed amount is about 100 million won [$67,919]. A provisional seizure was placed on real estate owned by Park Na Rae.
Park Na Rae’s former managers have reportedly filed a real-estate provisional-seizure request at the Seoul Western District Court on the 3rd of December. Following this, they also announced a damages-claim lawsuit worth about 100 million won, saying they suffered damage during their employment period.
The former managers are claiming workplace harassment, special injury, proxy medical prescriptions, unpaid operating expenses, etc., against Park Na Rae. It is known that they additionally submitted materials to the court to prove Park Na Rae’s misconduct.
According to the managers, Park Na Rae privately harassed the managers. Ordering snacks, cleaning up after parties, forcing drinking gatherings, and making the managers stay on standby for 24 hours. She even entrusted family matters and used them as housekeepers.
One manager was reportedly verbally abused for not drinking alcohol. They were even injured by a thrown glass out of anger. In addition, they had to handle personal errands related to medical matters such as hospital reservations and proxy prescriptions.
The report by Dispatch also claims that Park Na Rae also did not settle operating expenses on time. The managers said, “While doing company work, even the costs used personally were not properly paid. There were also cases where various food ingredient costs or alcohol purchase costs were unpaid.”
Unable to endure Park Na Rae’s behavior, the managers decided to resign. When they asked the company for settlement of overdue costs, the managers alleged they received this response, “We will sue for defamation and forgery of private documents.”
The managers explained the background of the provisional-seizure request, saying, “Park Na Rae does not acknowledge her wrongdoing. If we enter a damages-claim lawsuit, there is a high possibility she will rather dispose of or hide her assets.”
When contacted for a response, Park Na Rae’s agency said they were looking into it and will release a statement soon.
