Newly Released Kdrama Featuring Popular Idol-Actors Garners Surprisingly Low Ratings In The 1% Range
Despite being anticipated among many fans and casting two very popular idol-actors, this new KBS drama is struggling with low viewership ratings already!
Recently, KBS premiered its Wednesday-Thursday drama “24-Hour Health Club” starring Apink’s Eunji and Lee Jun Young, two very popular idol-turned-actors. Despite the star-studded casting the drama’s rating became a hot topic for being in the 1% range.
According to Nielsen Korea, “24-Hour Health Club” 1st and 2nd episodes recorded an average rating of 1.8%, a modest start to the drama.
Why is “24-Hour Health Club” struggling with ratings already?
The KBS Wednesday-Thursday timeslot has long struggled with low viewership ratings. The drama “Villains Everywhere” which aired prior to “24-Hour Health Club,” recorded ratings in the 0 to 1% range.
Many netizens believe the timeslot is one of the main reasons why the drama is already struggling with lower than expected ratings.
Lee Jun Young has been enjoying great popularity starring in the biggest Netflix series of 2025 thus far “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” he also recently appeared in Netflix’s “weak hero class 2.” He drew both attention and praise for his acting chops. Paired with Eunji, from Reply 1997 fame, many expected the drama to draw in a bigger crowd.
The 3rd episode of the new drama will air on the 7th of May.
