AB6IX to Take A Hiatus As A Group During Contract Negotiations
Agency Brand New Music announced on the 10th of April through an official statement, “The exclusive contract with AB6IX, which has been together since their debut on May 22, 2019, will end on May 25.”
Accordingly, after sufficient discussions with the members, AB6IX plans to temporarily suspend group activities and enter a break following their solo concert “2026 AB6IX Concert ‘6IX TO SEVEN’” held over two days on May 23–24.
Brand New Music stated, “We are currently continuing in-depth discussions with the members regarding contract renewal. We will fully respect and support the members’ choices as they stand at a new starting point.”
AB6IX is the first idol group of Brand New Music, formed with members from MXM and former members of Wanna One. Since their debut, the members have steadily grown in their respective fields while building the group’s unique musical identity.
The agency added, “We will do our best to support them so they can successfully complete all scheduled activities and concerts through May. We ask for your continued love and support for the future endeavors of the four members—Jeon Woong, Kim Dong Hyun, Park Woo Jin, and Lee Dae Hwi.”
