ADOR Files Lawsuit With The Court To Confirm The Validity Of Newjeans’ Contract

The girl group NewJeans and their agency, ADOR, have entered into a legal dispute over their exclusive contract.

On December 5, ADOR announced that they filed a legal action with the Seoul Central District Court on December 3 to confirm the validity of their exclusive contract with NewJeans. According to ADOR, this move was not taken lightly, but they deemed it necessary to ensure that the exclusive contract could not be unilaterally terminated based solely on one party’s claims. The agency stated that the decision was also aimed at preserving the integrity of trust within the K-pop industry and the broader Korean cultural industry.

The conflict escalated after NewJeans held an emergency press conference on November 28, announcing the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR the following day. ADOR expressed concern about the potential misunderstanding that the contract had been legally terminated, which could lead to violations of the contract and unforeseen consequences for industry stakeholders.

Despite the legal proceedings, ADOR emphasized their commitment to resolving the issues through sincere communication with the members. They reiterated their unchanged desire to work with NewJeans and vowed to make every effort to clear up misunderstandings. ADOR also requested the public’s support as both parties navigate the current challenges.
