ADOR Firmly Asks Reporters And Media Outlets To Use NewJeans And Not NJZ…. Why?
ADOR has issued a statement aimed at media outlets asking them to continue using the group’s past name NewJeans!
On the 10th of February, ADOR released a statement regarding NewJeans’ team name change, clarifying that the group’s official name is still NewJeans. ADOR emphasized that their exclusive contract with the members remains valid.
ADOR stated to the press, “The claim that the exclusive contract between NewJeans members and ADOR has been terminated is a one-sided assertion,” and requested, “Please use the official team name, NewJeans, based on the valid contract.”
They added, “We have filed for an injunction to confirm ADOR’s status as the management company under the exclusive contract. We also filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the contract,” explaining that they are awaiting the court’s decision.
On February 7, NewJeans announced that they had changed their team name to “NJZ” and declared their intention to pursue independent activities. They are scheduled to perform under the new name at the “ComplexCon Hong Kong” festival next month.
The members are currently siding with former CEO Min Hee Jin, in conflict with HYBE and ADOR. On November 28 of last year, they held an emergency press conference, declaring their departure from ADOR.
Meanwhile, NewJeans’ exclusive contract with ADOR is set to expire on July 31, 2029.
