aespa Becomes The Leading Sm Artists In First-Week Sales And Claims The Title Of The Highest-Selling K-Pop Girl Group During 1st Week

aespa has set a new record for first-week sales among K-pop girl groups and for SM in general, too.

According to their agency, SM Entertainment, aespa’s third mini-album, ‘MY WORLD,’ which was released on the 8th of May, recorded a total of 1,698,784 copies in first-week sales according to Hanteo Chart, a music sales aggregation site.

They surpassed the previous record held by BLACKPINK’s second full album, ‘THE ALBUM,’ which sold 1,540,000 copies in its first week. aespa’s second mini-album, ‘Girls,’ recorded 1,120,000 copies, securing the fourth spot for first-week sales among K-pop girl groups.

Moreover, the first-week sales of 1,698,784 copies also set the highest record (according to Hanteo Chart) among SM artists. Previously, NCT 127’s fourth full album, ‘Sticker,’ held the record with a total of 1,547,595 copies.

‘MY WORLD’ marks the beginning of aespa Season 2, a part of SM’s universe ‘SMCU.’ It offers a chance to experience aespa’s new music, performances, and fashion as they transition from the virtual world of ‘KWANGYA’ to the real world of ‘REAL WORLD.’ The title track, ‘Spicy,’ along with other songs on the album, has been receiving positive responses on music charts.
