Far-Right YouTuber Bae In Gyu Found Dead at 36, Police Investigating Cause of Death

Bae In Gyu, CEO of “Shin Namsung Yeondae” (“New Men’s Solidarity”) and a far-right-leaning YouTuber with 710,000 subscribers, has been found dead, and police are investigating the circumstances of his death.

According to police on August 5, Bae was found dead around 8 a.m. that day in an apartment on Yeongjong Island in Jung-gu, Incheon. He was 36. His body is currently at the morgue of Inha University Hospital, and a funeral hall has not yet been arranged.

No suicide note has been found at the scene so far, and Bae is reported to have been found at the home he shared with his girlfriend. Police say they see no signs of criminal involvement and are investigating the exact circumstances of his death.

Bae was investigated by police last May over an alleged violation of the Act on the Control of Narcotics for allegedly using methamphetamine at a motel in Jung-gu, Incheon.

At the time, police collected a urine sample from Bae and requested a detailed analysis from the National Forensic Service. Both the preliminary test and the simple reagent test came back positive for drugs. A subsequent detailed analysis from the National Forensic Service also came back positive, and Bae reportedly admitted to methamphetamine use during police questioning. After completing their investigation, police referred Bae to prosecutors without physical detention.

Bae had also previously gone through divorce proceedings with his ex-spouse, and it was confirmed that he suffered from depression and panic disorder amid the criminal case related to the methamphetamine allegations. It was also reported that he was rescued by the coast guard at Eulwangni Beach in Incheon last year.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances of his death.
