Popular Singer Accuses “Love Next Door” OST Sung By Ha Sung Woon Of Plagiarism, Agency Denies
Singer Baek Yerin raised plagiarism allegations against the OST of the drama “Love Next Door”, while singer Ha Sung Woon’s agency has issued a statement in response.
Ha Sung Woon’s agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, released an official statement, saying, “Regarding the plagiarism allegations raised by singer Baek Yerin on SNS about the OST What Are We sung by Ha Sung Woon for the drama “Love Next Door”, we would like to clarify that Ha Sung Woon is not involved in the plagiarism controversy.”
The agency explained, “Ha Sung Woon and Big Planet Made Entertainment only participated as a vocalist for the OST at the request of the production company and had no involvement in the lyrics, composition, or arrangement of What Are We.”
They added, “We are deeply sorry for causing concern to fans as the OST sung by Ha Sung Woon became entangled in a plagiarism dispute. We reiterate that Ha Sung Woon has no connection to the plagiarism issue and hope for an amicable resolution between Baek Yerin and the OST production company.”
Earlier, Baek Yerin shared the music video for the OST What Are We, released on September 1, via her personal SNS. The song, sung by Ha Sung Woon, has been criticized by netizens for its resemblance to Baek Yerin’s song 0310, particularly in the intro, melody, and chord progression.
Baek Yerin expressed her dissatisfaction, stating, “Plagiarism is something to be ashamed of. I’m not happy about this,” and added, “If you like my song, ask me first.” Her comments directly pointed to the plagiarism issue, revealing her frustration.
Furthermore, Baek Yerin shared comments from netizens on the music video, such as “Why does this sound like 0310?” and “If you’re going to copy the guitar line from Baek Yerin’s 0310… this isn’t right.” She also reshared a fan’s post that said, “Is it okay to release a remake without the original singer knowing?” on her story.
