Belift Lab Says Heeseung Is NOT Returning To ENHYPEN In New Statement Following Fans’ Backlash

Following fans’ protests, Belift Lab has issued a new statement denying that Heeseung will return to ENHYPEN!

On March 15, the media outlet Korea Herlad obtained a statement from the agency. They said, “Heeseung will not be returning to Enhypen. He has a clear artistic direction he wants to pursue, and we decided to respect that.”

This comes after a wave of intense backlash and pushback following the shocking announcement a couple of days ago. The sudden departure was announced on March 10, ENHYPEN’s agency explained, “HEESEUNG has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it.”

Following the announcement, fans took to social media and appeared even in person to protest the idol’s removal from the group. Fans purchased billboards, protest trucks and even showed up to protest directly at HYBE’s building following the announcement. A petition calling for Heeseung to pursue individual activities while staying a part of the group went viral and amassed over 1 million signatures in a short time.

Additionally, both Heeseung and ENHYPEN were the most mentioned artists on Twitter/X by a large margin through the past week, generating over 40 million posts as of this writing.

The statement has angered the fans who have been waiting for another response from the agency.
