The agency representing BLACKPINK‘s Jennie has taken a firm stance against photos and videos currently spreading online.

On August 18th, OA Entertainment released an official statement titled “Notice of Legal Action Regarding Artist Jennie (JENNIE)” through its official channels.

The agency stated, “We have continued to confirm baseless slander and the spread of false information targeting our artist Jennie across online communities and social media, as well as the malicious editing and manipulation of the artist’s photos and videos, and their posting and distribution in ways that infringe on her privacy and personal rights.”

They added, “In cooperation with legal counsel, we are continuing to monitor related posts and accounts and collect evidence, while pursuing civil and criminal legal action against serious cases of rights infringement.”

The agency specifically emphasized that it plans to actively take necessary legal measures depending on the case, including against the malicious editing or reprocessing of Jennie’s physical features, the repeated posting, reposting, and distribution of certain scenes from specific photos and videos, and the spreading of insulting remarks or false information alongside them.

They also made their stance clear, stating, “There will be no settlement or leniency in this process.”

Jennie had earlier headlined “Summer Sonic 2026” at ZOZO Marine Stadium in Chiba, Japan on August 14th, performing for about an hour. After the show, footage from the stage quickly spread across social media, with some clips showing a moment where her outfit appeared to shift, seemingly exposing part of her body, which sparked controversy. Some online reactions described it as a genuine wardrobe malfunction, while others suspected the footage may have been manipulated using AI or editing tools.

She also appeared to have a microphone issue during her August 16th performance in Osaka, where she was seen checking it herself and alerting staff.

After the shows, Jennie shared her thoughts, writing that there were “so many unexpected moments,” both “good moments and hard ones,” adding that “not everything can be perfect.”

With the agency now directly addressing the manipulated content and announcing legal action, renewed attention is being drawn to the posts that have circulated online. The agency added it is reviewing materials based on fan reports and will continue monitoring to prevent further harm to the artist and fans.
