BLACKPINK’s Jennie will take legal action against the spread of false information and invasion of privacy.

Her agency OA Entertainment stated on the 9th of March, “Recently, malicious slander and baseless speculative posts about our artist Jennie have been continuously spreading on online communities and social media, damaging the artist’s reputation through the distribution of false information.”

The agency continued, “Along with cases where false posts based on completely untrue information are being circulated and harming the artist’s reputation, acts that invade her privacy—such as disrupting her personal time or following her travel routes—are also increasing, and we take this situation very seriously. Based on legal consultation, we are preparing legal action against acts that infringe upon the artist’s reputation and rights.”

They further emphasized,“Regarding acts that violate the artist’s reputation, rights, portrait rights, and other intellectual property rights, as well as acts that invade her privacy, we will take strong action, including civil and criminal legal measures depending on the severity of the case. There will be no leniency or settlement during this process.”

Jennie reportedly made this decision after cases of privacy invasion increased, including an incident in Paris where some fans persistently demanded autographs from her while she pleaded to be left alone. This also follows a barrage of content spread online targeting Jennie spreading severe malicious rumors about her.

Meanwhile, the group BLACKPINK released their third album “Deadline” on the 27th of last month.
