BLACKPINK’s Jennie Explains Why She Apologized For The Vaping Incident In Italy
BLACKPINK’s Jennie has recently had a photo shoot with Harper Bazaar U.S and sat down for an in-depth interview about her life as an idol and what her next steps are, she also touched on various topics she’s been recently mentioned in.
In the interview, Jennie mentions how her mother was key to fostering her classic sense of style. she said, “She was Carrie from Sex and the City for me,” and added, “When I’m at the airport … I call my mom. ‘Mom, I need a knee-length black coat. If it’s Burberry, I’ll like it, but if not, that’s cool.’ She’ll bring me a perfect [outfit] from when she wore it like 30 years ago.”

Jennie has also mentioned how being a trainee so focused on debuting meant she didn’t understand the becoming of an artist, “I spent six years as a TRAINEE. …I was SO FOCUSED on becoming a PERFORMER, I didn’t really understand the MEANING of becoming an ARTIST.”

Recently, Jennie was under fire for vaping indoors in the face of the makeup artists working on her look which prompted her to issue an apology. About this she said, “What can I do? If Korean people think it’s wrong, I’ve got to make up for it. It’s like, I get why you guys are upset. It’s cultural, it’s history. It’s time. And I can’t go against time.”
