BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s “Mantra” And NCT’s Jaehyun’s “Unconditional” Banned From Broadcast On KBS, Why?
Several new and upcoming Kpop releases have been deemed unsuitable for broadcast by KBS.
According to the KBS music review results released on the 23rd of October, “Mantra” was found to violate Article 46 of the Broadcast Review Regulations (limitations on advertising effects) due to lyrics mentioning a specific product brand, which led to the unsuitable-for-broadcast ruling.”
After receiving the ruling, the problematic parts can be revised or removed, and the song can undergo another review.
In addition to “Mantra,” other songs such as NCT 127 Jaehyun’s new track “Unconditional,” John Park’s “VISTA,” and Lee Ye Joon’s “Maybe We’ll Meet Again” also received unsuitable-for-broadcast rulings.
NCT’s Jaehyun’s “Unconditional” will notably mark his last release before his military enlistment happening in the near future.
