BLACKPINK’s Jisso Distances Herself From Brother After Shocking Accusations Made Against Him, “No Plan To Provide Any Support”
The agency of Jisoo from girl group BLACKPINK has drawn a clear line regarding a recent controversy involving her family, stating that “the matter is completely unrelated.”
On the 20th of April, attorney Eun Hyun Ho of Kim & Chang, the legal representative for Jisoo’s agency Blissoo, released an official statement saying, “The issue currently being raised has absolutely no connection to the artist or Blissoo.”
Jisoo’s brother, identified as Mr. A, was arrested in the act on the 14th on suspicion of attempting inappropriate physical contact with a woman. Police applied for a detention warrant, but the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office rejected it.
The attorney emphasized, “The artist began her trainee life at a young age and became independent early on, living apart from her family for a long time, making it impossible for her to be aware of or involved in the private life of the individual (Mr. A).”
He added, “During the preparation process of establishing Blissoo, the artist did receive limited advice or assistance in relaying communication from family members while consulting with related parties. However, no family member has ever received compensation from Blissoo or participated in decision-making. The company has since been operated completely independently without any involvement from family members.”
The attorney also firmly denied online rumors claiming that Blissoo was “established jointly by the artist and the individual” or that “the individual is part of the management or CEO,” stating these claims are entirely false.
He concluded, “The individual currently has no legal or managerial relationship with Blissoo. Neither Blissoo nor the artist has provided any financial or legal support to this individual, nor do they plan to do so in the future. There has been no exchange or involvement related to this matter.”
Furthermore, he warned that legal action—both civil and criminal—will be taken against those spreading false information or associating the artist’s name, likeness, or image with unrelated matters.
