Legendary SM Singer Cancels 25th Debut Anniversary Concert Due To Severe Knee Pain

Singer BoA has canceled her concert due to health issues.

On July 15, SM Entertainment told Dispatch, “BoA recently visited the hospital due to severe knee pain. She was diagnosed with acute osteonecrosis that requires surgical treatment.”

BoA had planned to hold her 5th solo concert on August 30–31 to celebrate her 25th debut anniversary with fans. However, due to the surgery schedule, all related plans have been canceled.

The agency stated, “Medical professionals advised that she avoid strenuous physical activity and dancing to prevent the condition from worsening, and that surgery should be performed as soon as possible. She has decided to proceed with the surgery.”

They asked fans for their understanding, saying, “This decision was made with the artist’s health as the top priority. We sincerely apologize for the sudden concern this may cause to fans.”

SM added, “This year marks a meaningful milestone as BoA celebrates her 25th debut anniversary. The completed anniversary album will be released as originally scheduled without any changes.”

Lastly, they noted, “Future concert plans will be reannounced depending on her recovery after surgery. We will do our utmost to support her full recovery.”

Meanwhile, BoA’s official 25th debut anniversary is approaching on August 25, and a Japan tour was also planned for this coming September to November.
