Baekhyun, Chen And Xiumin’s Agency Claims They Were Blindsided By EXO’s Upcoming Group Activities In New Statement After Losing Several Lawsuits Against SM
With EXO’s group fan meeting set to take place this December without Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin (known collectively as CBX), the trio’s agency has spoken up about the situation.
On the 29th of October, INB100 released an official statement to claim that they’ve met with SM in the past and have done their best trying to reach an agreement so the members could participate in the group’s activities to the point the trio freed up their December schedule in anticipation of the upcoming EXO activities. However, the agency says they were blindsided by SM’s comeback and fan meeting announcement regarding EXO this coming December.

We sincerely apologize to fans for the confusion and concern caused by the delay in announcing CBX’s (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin) position regarding EXO’s full-group activities.
INB100 and our artists Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin (hereafter referred to as “CBX”) promised fans that, as members of EXO, they would take part in full-group activities, and we have made every effort to fulfill that promise.
We would now like to inform you of the progress that has been made so far.
1. July 9, 2025 – First confirmation of intent to reach an agreement with SM Entertainment
To carry out EXO’s full-group activities, we met directly with SM Entertainment (hereafter “SM”) to confirm our mutual intent and direction for reaching an agreement.
2. September 10, 2025 – Exchange of detailed agreement drafts
Both parties shared specific details of the proposed agreement and entered into a practical negotiation stage.
3. Full acceptance of SM’s conditions
After the second mediation session (October 2), in order to make EXO’s year-end comeback possible, CBX clearly expressed their willingness to accept all of the conditions proposed by SM.
4. Schedule adjustments prioritizing EXO’s activities
For full-group activities, all personal schedules for December were cleared, and through our legal representatives, we were waiting for SM’s final response.
While we were making these efforts for EXO’s full-group activities, we were informed of the announcement regarding EXO’s fan meeting and regular album release that excluded CBX. We apologize for the delayed response as we were confirming SM’s position on this unexpected development.
The members of CBX have always deeply cherished the sincerity of fans who have supported EXO for a long time and have earnestly wished for full-group activities, which is why they chose the path of reaching an agreement.
We plan to derive an agreement for EXO’s full-group activities as soon as possible.
We sincerely thank all the fans who have continued to trust and wait for us, and we will do our utmost to deliver good results. We ask for your continued expectations and support.
Meanwhile, according to The Law Journal, CBX recently lost several lawsuits against their former agency, SM Entertainment, regarding the alleged non-provision of settlement data and unfair contract terms.
EXO will proceed with their year-end fan meeting and new album promotions with six members — Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, and Lay — excluding Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin.
