Popular Idol-Turned-Actor Assaulted With A Golf Club, Reason For Suspending Activities Revealed

The shocking story of Actor Choi Bomin, formerly of the group Golden Child, was revealed. It was revealed he had suspended activities after being assaulted with a golf club.

According to an exclusive report by Legal News on November 18, Choi Bomin filed a damages lawsuit on August 22, 2022, through his legal representative against individual A, who wielded a golf club at him, and individual B, the operator of the golf practice facility.

The Seoul Western District Court’s Civil Division 8 ruled partially in favor of the plaintiff (Choi Bomin) during the verdict announced on October 15. The court ordered B to pay Choi approximately 12 million won [$8,612] and for A to jointly pay about 10.6 million won [$7,607] of that amount.

The defendants initially filed an appeal against the ruling on October 22. However, they withdrew the appeal on November 1, finalizing the partial victory for Choi Bomin.

Choi Bomin debuted in August 2017 as a member of the boy group Golden Child under Woollim Entertainment. Beyond his music career, he made his acting debut in 2019 through the Playlist drama A-Teen 2.

Since the latter half of this year, Choi has focused on his acting career. As of August 27, his contracts with Woollim Entertainment and Golden Child officially ended, marking his departure from the agency and group.

This year, Choi Bomin was invited to the 29th Busan International Film Festival for his film Ghost Station.

The story of the actor being assaulted shocked fans all around the world who had no idea he had to suspend activities after he was assaulted with a golf club.
