Singer Chungha expressed her gratitude to her mother, who raised her alone.

Recently, the YouTube channel “PDC by PDC” released an episode of “Way Home” featuring Chungha.

During the episode, Chungha shared her wish to travel the world with her mother and revealed that her favorite dish is her mother’s homemade kimchi stew. When told, “It seems like your mother is a very special person. You mentioned her in many stories,” Chungha laughed and responded, “I’m not a mama’s girl,” before adding, “I just feel like I’ve received so much love from my mom. No matter where I go, I always want to remember her. Since she raised me alone, I don’t have many memories of going on dates with her when I was young.” She expressed her deep appreciation for her mother.

Chungha also mentioned that she frequently releases music for her mother, who supports her wholeheartedly. “My mom’s greatest joy is watching my activities. When I finish promoting, she immediately asks when my next album will be released. She is my number one fan and the first person to ever support me,” she said. “Since my activities are a source of motivation for my mother, I try to release music frequently—whether through collaborations or OSTs. I think having a variety of songs will help her wait for my next comeback.”

Chungha further expressed her admiration for her mother, saying, “My mom, who has persevered through life like a roly-poly, is my role model. I want to be like her—to get back up every time and live my life to the fullest. All mothers in the world are great, but to me, my mother is the greatest.”

She also shared a touching story about her mother’s resilience. “There was a time when my mom was seriously ill. After going through a difficult treatment, she became much more adventurous. At some point, she started enjoying thrill rides and taking better care of her health,” she revealed. Chungha also reflected on how music became her refuge during that challenging time, saying, “When I’m working on an album, I don’t think about anything else—I just feel happy. During my mom’s illness, preparing for my album felt more like a sanctuary than home, my mother, or my friends.”

Meanwhile, Chungha recently made a comeback last month with her new EP “Alivio” and the title track “STRESS.”
