Chungha Rushed To Emergency Room, Forced To Cancel University Festival Performance

Chungha was rushed to the emergency room in the early hours of the morning due to a sudden health issue, forcing her to cancel her scheduled performance at a university festival.

According to her agency MORE VISION and Kyonggi University’s College of Tourism and Culture CO:RE student council on the 18th, Chungha was taken to the emergency room after showing sudden signs of a health issue early that morning and remains under treatment.

“We regret to inform you that the artist will be unable to attend today’s scheduled performance at Gwiryongje, Kyonggi University’s Seoul campus festival,” the agency said. “We sincerely apologize to the staff and students who were waiting for the artist’s performance for any concern this sudden news may have caused.” It added, “We will do our best to help the artist recover as soon as possible, and we hope Gwiryongje continues safely and enjoyably.” The agency did not disclose further details on the specific cause of the emergency room visit or her exact condition.

The event’s organizer, the Kyonggi University student council, also urgently announced the cancellation via social media. The council said it was arranging a replacement artist and would announce the updated schedule by 2 p.m., but reportedly struggled to confirm a replacement even after that time had passed.

Chungha’s sudden hospitalization has also raised concerns about her upcoming schedule, as she had been actively promoting her recent single “México.” In addition to the Kyonggi University festival, she is set to appear at major festivals including the “KB Joy Olpark Festival 2026” at Olympic Park on the 19th and 20th, and “OBJET K-POP FESTA 2026” at Incheon Munhak Stadium’s main stadium on the 26th and 27th, drawing attention to whether those appearances will be affected.

Meanwhile, Chungha debuted in 2016 as a member of the project group I.O.I through Mnet’s audition program “Produce 101” season 1. After going solo with her first mini album “Hands On Me” in June 2017, she cemented herself as a standout solo artist with a string of hits including “Why Don’t You Know,” “Roller Coaster,” and “Already Midnight.”
