Former Idol Announces Miracle Pregnancy After Overcoming Cervical Cancer
Former Crayon Pop member Choa has overcome cervical cancer and shared the news that she is pregnant with twins.
On September 5, Choa announced her pregnancy on her social media, saying, “Finally, the precious life we’ve been desperately waiting for has come to us.” She is expected to give birth in March next year.
She revealed, “Two years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer and was told by several university hospitals that I would not be able to have children, but I never gave up. I met a hospital and doctor who preserved my fertility, successfully underwent cancer surgery, and was able to recover.”
She continued, “After several attempts at natural pregnancy, I tried IVF, and like a miracle, I conceived on the first attempt. I wanted to share this happy news earlier, but I held back because I had to be careful in the early stages. Today, I am 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant, and I introduce my two precious babies—identical twins, Heart and Cute.”
Choa explained, “Since I don’t have a cervix, I am at risk of preterm birth, so I intentionally transferred only one embryo, but it naturally split into identical twins. They said it’s a 1% chance. At first, I was worried, but now all I can think of is carrying them well and giving birth to them healthily.”
She added, “I shared my story in detail on my YouTube channel. I hope it can help those who have gone through similar experiences. I will continue to record this journey through videos and show hope until the end, so please watch over me. To all couples struggling with infertility—fighting!”
She also expressed her gratitude: “Thank you to all the online aunts and uncles, my family, and friends who sent heartfelt messages of comfort and support, even dreaming of baby-related dreams for me. See you in March next year.”
Choa debuted with Crayon Pop in 2012 and married a businessman six years older than her in 2021.
Last year, she revealed she was battling cervical cancer, saying, “I was diagnosed with cancer during a prenatal checkup, but at the time of surgery, the tumor was small, and miraculously, I was able to preserve my fertility.”
