Former Kpop Idol Shocks With Cancer Diagnosis News, Battled Cervical Cancer In Her 30s
Crayon Pop’s Choa has shocked fans by revealing she’s currently diagnosed with cancer!
On the 14th of October, Choa revealed through her social media, along with the hashtag “#CancerComingOut,” that she had been battling cervical cancer. She explained, “I know there are many people who are suffering more than I am, so I hesitated, but I decided to share my story now in the hope that it might provide even a little help and hope to someone.”
She added, “Being diagnosed with cancer and undergoing surgery in my 30s was something I never even imagined or thought of. Looking back, my diet, which was filled with junk food, and my lifestyle, which was always plagued by lack of sleep and stress, were major factors.”
Fortunately, she shared that she has now been fully cured, stating, “I am living a new life that is 180 degrees different from before.”
On Instagram, the video she posted showed her journey of battling cancer, with her husband by her side, holding her hand through it all. Netizens have been pouring out words of comfort and support, praising Choa’s brave confession.
Choa debuted as the main vocalist of Crayon Pop in 2012 and gained national popularity with the hit song “Bar Bar Bar.” Beyond her activities with Crayon Pop, she built her skills as a musical actress in productions like The Last Princess and Hero. She has also been actively working as a YouTuber and appeared on JTBC’s Sing Again: Unknown Singer Battle as Singer No. 59, where her vocal talent was widely recognized.
