Cube Entertainment Issues Apology Over Using Red Cross Emblem In (G)I-DLE’s Stage Costumes Without Authorization
Amidst the controversy over (G)I-DLE‘s stage costume using the Red Cross emblem without authorization, the agency acknowledged the issue and announced they are in talks with the Korean Red Cross.
Cube Entertainment stated on the 22nd of July, “We recognize the problem with the stage costumes worn during the ‘Klaxon’ performance on KBS2’s ‘Music Bank’ broadcast on the 19th,” and “We are actively coordinating with the Korean Red Cross for an apology and measures to prevent recurrence.”
The agency also apologized again, “We sincerely apologize to everyone who was inconvenienced by this incident.”
On the 19th, (G)I-DLE performed on ‘Music Bank’ wearing costumes that featured the word ‘LIFEGUARD’ and the Red Cross emblem, sparking controversy.
The Korean Red Cross officially prohibits the unauthorized use of its emblem and launched a campaign in May to prevent such misuse. According to the Korean Red Cross Organization Act, unauthorized use of the Red Cross emblem can result in a fine of up to 10 million won or a penalty of up to 5 million won.
