Famous Kpop Idol Says She Dated A 14 Year Old When She Was 19 Because She Lied About Her Age Drawing Immense Backlash

2NE1 member Dara is being heavily criticized for her past shocking remarks in a YouTube video!

One netizen had rediscovered an old clip from Dara’s chann from 2024 where she discusses something that has gained her a lot of backlash.

In a video published to Dara’s own YouTube channel, She was conversing with Minzy and revealed she dated a 14 year old when she was 19 by lying about her age.

She said, “a boy came up to me and asked for my number, he was so cute and I was like why not? but it turned out he was 14 years old.”

The idol revealed she was 19 at the time and it happened before her debut, but she ended up lying to him about her age and said she was 16, she added, “we went on a couple of dates… but then I suddenly debuted and my real age was revealed on TV, and I didn’t contact him again after that.”

Dara shared the story on her own and the tone of the video treated it as a light happening which had already rubbed many fans the wrong way. Because of the video going viral again, Dara ended up receiving alot of backlash online,especiallyfrom the international side who expressed their shock she’d admit to it publicly.

On the Korean sides, reaction were mixed as both 19 and 14 are considered minors in South Korea.

Due to the renewed backlash, Dara’s Youtube channel would go on to edit out the problematic clip and add in a comment that the episode was edited to `avoid misunderstandings due to cultural differences.`

The channel also threatend legal action and asked people to refrain from commenting negatively or spreading speculations saying they’d take legal action against defamation.
The idol is yet to directly address the mounting backlash against her.
